Kurtis Katnik is a third-generation Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury Lawyer based in Santa Ana, CA. He focuses his practice entirely on representing injured workers throughout Orange County, bringing the championship discipline of a former USC student-athlete to every case he handles.

Following his graduation Magna Cum Laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2011, Kurt immediately joined Katnik & Katnik Lawyers, continuing his family’s six-decade legacy of fighting for the injured. He is proud to be the third generation of lawyers in the Katnik family dedicated to representing the injured.

Kurt’s unique background includes real-world management experience as a Project Manager for a Canadian development company, where he oversaw complex site development and managed legal and municipal processes—experience that provides a distinct advantage in understanding high-value workers’ compensation and personal injury claims.

Prior to his legal career, Kurt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy from the University of Southern California (USC), where he was a successful student-athlete on the two-time NCAA National Champion football team. He is an active member of the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association (CAAA) and the California Bar Association.

Kurt, his wife Kammy (a former USC All-American swimmer), and their son Julius reside in Seal Beach. When not advocating for his clients, he can be found enjoying the outdoors, including water skiing, snow skiing, and passionately cheering on the USC Trojans, LA Lakers, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Tigers.
